The ongoing presence of war throughout human history has made it a brutal, but tacitly accepted phenomenon. But in different ways, and in different eras, certain people have bucked this trend. On the day after the 104th holiday first called “Armistice Day,” we find inspiration in the stories of those with the audacity to wage peace.
