Small Group Ministry
July 2026 through June 2027
Small Group Ministry is a vital part of our UU Fellowship congregation, and a great way to get to know others better. Groups of 5-10 people commit to meeting once a month (in person or on Zoom) to reflect on and discuss significant life topics. Led by trained facilitators from our congregation, participants share their life journeys, listen deeply and build mutual trust and connection.
Members of the groups develop and agree to a Behavioral Covenant based on the REACH with LOVE Covenant, which can be provided by one of the Small Group Ministry organizers or a group facilitator. Please review the expectations of these covenants to determine if you wish to commit to meeting for 2 hours monthly with a group.
Prior to each meeting, the facilitator will provide members with a packet of information about a topic which will coincide with the theme of the Fellowship services for that month. Group members commit to reviewing the information prior to the meeting. The materials will include some questions to comment upon during their time to share.
Typically, a meeting will include:
- brief ”check in” by each member to share what is going on in their life at present
- readings/relevant quotations
- sharing by each member without interruption, during which they speak from their own personal experience while other members practice deep listening
- brief “check out” where members can express their feelings about the meeting
Logistics:
- meetings are held in a group member’s home, at the Fellowship or on Zoom.
- meetings are expected to last no longer than 2 hours
- members need to let their group facilitator know if they have to miss a meeting
Interested persons are invited to join a group which will begin meeting in July. Look for a sign-up table after the service on June 7 or June 14, or contact Diana Wirt, info below.
