For most of us, the natural state of our heart is to feel wide open to the suffering of the world, so we can respond with empathy, care, and practical support.  But if you try to respond personally to all the need and distress you see in the world, it will overwhelm you.  So, how can you treat yourself with the same care that you share so generously with others in need?
