Power in the Holy Community

We are rightly suspicious of the very notion of power as it is now being wielded tyrannically at the national level.  But there are gentler forms of power that are mutual and co-operative, that do not work by coercion or domination.  Centering love in our thinking leads us live and act with a kind of relational power that may be grounded in the ultimate nature of reality, whether we call it “God,” the “Spirit of Life,” the “Interdependent Web,” “Beauty, Truth, and Goodness,” or just the nameless mystery.
