Today we lift up the work of the late African-American theologian Howard Thurman, Dr. King’s spiritual advisor, whose radical reinterpretation of Christianity energized an entire movement. Love, he said, is not only something we do for others–it’s how we save ourselves when oppression would crush us.

And today, we’ll also welcome our new members with appreciation and celebration!
