R.E.A.C.H. with Love Covenant:
RESPECT—EMPATHY—ACCEPTANCE—COMPASSION—HONESTY
As a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Santa Cruz County, I recognize that it is our covenant with one another which binds us together. As a community, we seek to grow and to enrich our own lives and the lives of those around us. To do so, we must R.E.A.C.H. together for a common purpose. In this spirit , as member of this fellowship, we covenant with one another to R.E.A.C.H., to bring our higher selves to this community.
I promise to:
RESPECT others. I recognize the worth of all people. I will show others that I value and appreciate them and their ideas though my words and actions.
EMPATHIZE with others. To slow down, listen attentively and openly, and allow for expression of feelings. I will let others know they were heard and respond with understanding.
ACCEPT the rights of others to express opinions and to encourage actions that may differ from my own. I will imagine how they have arrived at their point of view. I will seek accurate information from which to test my own assumptions, and will do so in a way that will maintain my personal integrity.
Show COMPASSION and deep love through the humble act of forgiveness with all the members of our religious community.
Act with HONESTY, to keep my word and to speak the truth with kindness.
