This often means we must commit to courageous action. Since we started this tradition in 2017, we have collected over $125,000 for community organizations.  These organizations include:  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.copaiaf.org\/\">Communities Organized for Relational Power in Action<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cabinc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/CSP-Toolkit_rev.7.24.25_Final-1.pdf\">Childcare Safety Plans Coalition<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diversitycenter.org\/\">Diversity Center<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parentscentersc.org\/\">Support Instead of Stigma<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.regenerationpajarovalley.org\/\">Regeneracion<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lookout.co\/santa-cruz-health-wellness-leader-of-the-year-campesina-womb-justice\/story\">Campesina Womb Justice<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/seniorscouncil.org\/project-scout\/\">Project SCOUT<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/farmworkerfamily.org\/\">Center for Farmworker Families<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.santacruzwelcomingnetwork.com\/\">Santa Cruz Welcoming Network<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pvshelter.org\/\">Pajaro Valley Shelter Services<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/scsenderos.org\/\">Senderos<\/a>, and others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beyond the Sunday shared collections, we have donated personal hygiene and household items to farmworker families to help them through the hard winter months, and have adopted several of these families for Christmas gift giving of toys and clothing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We stretch to grow&nbsp;in our understanding and promotion of equity, justice, and dignity for all through worship and small group ministries. We encourage one another to be of service and in action.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We are a welcoming congregation. We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uua.org\/lgbtq\/welcoming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">welcome people<\/a> of all sexual orientations and gender identities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We amplify and engage with the campaigns of our broader faith, including <a href=\"https:\/\/sidewithlove.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Side with Love<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uua.org\/loveresists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LoveRESISTS<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uua.org\/racial-justice\/black-lives-matter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Black Lives Matter<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We regularly acknowledge in our services our debt to the indigenous peoples who came before us on this land, represented today by the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band. We support their effort to stop gravel mining on their sacred site, Juristac, on the Sargent Ranch near Gilroy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We actively participate and collaborate with other member churches, synagogues, public schools, nonprofits and service organizations in Communities Organized for Relational Power in Action (<a href=\"https:\/\/copa.nationbuilder.com\/membership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COPA<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One of our congregational social justice ministries serves people who are homeless in our community. We participate in the Winter Shelter Outreach Ministry and the Mid-County Homeless Coalition Shower Project.&nbsp; We participate with other area churches to raise funds for the Shower Project through the Chili Cookoff Fundraiser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We participate in non-partisan voter engagement to strengthen our democracy through UU the Vote.  Since 2022 we have sent over 3000 letters to voters sharing personal stories of why we vote as a way to encourage others to do the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We invite you to be part of our commitment to social justice.
