Worship\u00a0creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion.<\/p>\n<p>Unitarian Universalist\u00a0worship styles vary by congregation, and even within congregations.\u00a0Some congregations\u2019 worship is contemporary and high tech. Some congregations\u2019 worship is traditional and formal. Some features exuberant music, some includes long periods of silent reflection.<\/p>\n<p>Elements of a typical Unitarian Universalist Sunday morning\u00a0worship service include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Words of welcome<\/li>\n<li>Lighting a flaming chalice, the symbol of our faith<\/li>\n<li>A multigenerational segment, such as a \u201cstory for all ages\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Music, both instrumental and vocal and in a variety of styles<\/li>\n<li>A time for lifting up the joys and concerns of the congregation<\/li>\n<li>A meditation or prayer<\/li>\n<li>Readings\u2014ancient or contemporary<\/li>\n<li>A sermon by our minister, Rev.
