UUFSCC condemns hate speech and xenophobia

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Santa Cruz County joins in solidarity with the Jewish community and other marginalized groups in our community to condemn hate speech and xenophobia. In recent weeks, we have been alarmed and saddened to witness recent expressions of hate in the form of antisemitism–-at UC Santa Cruz and also in the Santa Cruz County community.

March Shared Plate Collection

The March shared plate will be collected on behalf of Hopes Closet.

Hopes Closet is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide clothing and necessities for children and families in need in SC County. In several rooms filled with bins of clothes sorted by size and shelves of toys and books arranged by age, volunteers bag 4-7 days worth of these items ("Bundles of Hope") which are then ready for pickup.

Below this beehive of activity is Hopes Closet Store which sells recycled children's goods to support the non-profit's mission and, in thea lleyway, the Donation Center which accepts similar materials to sell in the store or to make up the "Bundles of Hope".

Volunteers are warmly welcomed as well as gently used children's materials.

Hopes Closet. is located at 2555 Soquel Drive in Santa Cruz, a few blocks north of 41st Ave.
